M.S. Thesis Defense on Offshore Oil Platform Foundations
On July 24, 2015, Volkan Emren from GeoMT research group defended his M.S. thesis. The topic of the thesis is “offshore oil platform foundation (spudcan) penetration into cohesive seabed: 3D finite element modeling with Abaqus”. Volkan will be moving to U.S. for his Ph.D in geotechnical engineering and to work as a research assistant of Prof. Khalid Alshibli.
The First PhD Thesis of GeoMT Research Group: Shallow Landslides Triggered by Rainfall in Unsaturated Soils
The first PhD student of GeoMT research group, Mohammad Ahmadie Adli, supervised by Dr. Nejan Huvaj and Dr. Kartal Toker, passed his PhD defense on December 29, 2014. His PhD thesis is entitled “Shallow landslides triggered by rainfall in unsaturated soils”. Congratulations Mohammad!!
