On July 24, 2015, Volkan Emren from GeoMT research group defended his M.S. thesis. The topic if the thesis is “offshore oil platform foundation (spudcan) penetration into cohesive seabed: 3D finite element modeling with Abaqus”. Volkan will be moving to U.S. for his Ph.D in geotechnical engineering and to work as a research assistant of Prof. Khalid Alshibli.
